Software Test Engineer - contract - New

This is the games division of the world's largest software publisher and the producer of the now famous Xbox. Some of the games coming out are well deserving of their pre-release hype; such titles as DOA3, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Halo (among many others) are guaranteed to be instant hits.
This role will oversee test case creation & testing for given areas in a game. The prime responsibility of the STE is to use testing and expertise to drive effective and efficient testing to raise defects and risks which development can reproduce and fix. The STE will work as a resource identifying and owning test process, maintaining specific test schedule and ensuring testing / reporting in allocated areas are carried out to completion throughout the testing phase.

Requirements:

- Min 1 year expereince in similar role
- Excellent office software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio etc
- Familiar with bug tracking and test case management software solutions
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in English
- Strong analytical and strategic skills
- Professional under pressure while keeping a high level of integrity
- Preferably ISEB/ISTQB qualified

Test Team Lead

My client is looking for a Test Team Lead to take responsibility for testing their software development kit.
The right person will be experienced and competent in defying and implementing a comprehensive test strategy. Working closely with the product exec and technical team the role is responsible for selecting and managing the tools necessary to perform effective system, performance, regression and testing activities.
Leading a small team of testers, the successful candidate will have experience of testing software development kits. Experience of working in an Agile environments is also beneficial as is experience of testing 3d graphical products. In addition candidates must have prior experience of developing automated tests.

Responsibilities
- Accountable for the quality of the software being released.
- Develop an automated test suite for the SDK
- Formulate a test strategy and associated processes/tools.
- Assist with creation and management of suitable test environments
- Assist other test analysts with system, performance and regression testing

Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to track issues, estimate, prioritise and balance requirements under pressure
- Ability to develop an automated test suite

- Knowledge of recording techniques, microphone placement, Foley sound creation and on-location recording
